"There ain't no life nowhere."
Edit: I've been reading Nickle and Dimed by Barbara Ehrenreich. Don't read it unless you want to become profoundly depressed. Unless, of course, you've already "got yours" and don't give a damn about anyone else. In which case you won't be reading it anyway.

here here
"Beam me up, Scotty, there's no intelligent life done here."
"No. Seriously. Beam me up. NOW."
"Scotty?"
"Beam me up!"
"#$@#@#% it, Scotty! Beam me up! Please!!"
"SCOTTTTYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!"
*sob*
You know, I didn't put that flower there so people would comment on the flower. I just wanted to have some sort of post there with the possibility for people to reply in case I leave a comment on their site. You needn't comment if you have nothing to say. I feel a little like you're resenting me for deciding to quit posting actual content. That's very grown up, John. *frowns*
OOOooooooOOOOOOOooooo.
Hi babe...

"Well, I think I'll go turn myself off,
And go on down
All the way down
Really ain't no use in me hanging around"
Scuse me while I kiss the sky!
Yes and Yes I am sure they will let you live there!! Very..very small island....I went to school there for a whole year about 8 years ago,did go a bit stir crazy at times. Miami is only a 1 hour flight though! We can talk more about it anytime that you want.
Jimi was full to the brim with life...the thing is he took it all in and it is a wicked brew when not properly diluted.....
!
I could strip to that. Ha!
ryc: you're probably right. Those women are making money hand over ...well, I'll leave that up to you. Anyway, I went by the joint today and they have a brand new roof and several fancy cars parked outside. I think they have a new class of clientele. Oh, and apparently a Crazy Horse Saloon is going in next to the mall. We're becoming downright naughty over here in E-town. I think my plan to move will not be regrettable.
The xanga script that's supposed to take care of the background isn't working. Well, sorry. You know how to hightlight, right? If you keep bugging me just a little longer about the appearance of my xanga I'll shut it down completely, because I really don't need any sauce about something that's supposed to play no major role anymore. You're not being funny to me right now. So, please, stop. Or would you like to dictate which channels of communication and expression I have to use? What's gotten into you?
you changed your look again. nice.
so, you're moving to an island? please let me tag along. i don't belong anywhere.
thanks for the warning. i read angela's ashes and thought i'd hang myself. then there's all that crap a boy called it, a man naned dave, etc., that i don't even believe, not even a little bit.
Ah yes of course. The hallmark of the Left: profound depression.
I have that book! I won't get to reading it until spring break or until the semester ends. I've heard many good things about it, and some soc. profs here have their classes read that book.
Oh how 'surprising' soc. profs like the book too. Shocking I tell you ...shocking. God you people are hopeless.
Nsynctrick,
You claim to be a fan of C. S. Lewis. Lewis would called himself a democrat back in the day, but not in the sense of Kerry or a Clinton but a JFK, which means he'd be a Reaganite/'conservative' nowadays. I would bet my entire future earnings that Lewis would be against abortion also. You once said something about me, and I'm paraphrasing, "How could someone claim to be a cross between Ayn Rand and C. S. Lewis" That was rather simplistic on your part, but I digress. I assume you've read the masterpiece "The Screwtape Letters". The book was later published with an extended ending; a 'last chapter' so to speak called "Screwtape Proposes a Toast." Here you will find the melding of the politics/philosophy of Rand and the politics/theology of Lewis. I found it fascinating. It is one of the bridges, for me, between Reason and Faith, Objectivism and Theism. And from what I can tell would be direct affront to your cherished, and in my opinion, misguided politics. And, of course, by politics I don't mean kissing babies and shaking hands but ethics/philosophy.
I saw you! Cool Pic you should use it here and there. Cool. Thank you for coming over. It was fun. I hope you had fun even if we didn't meet all of your challenges. I've read bits and pieces of the book you mentioned and have seen a little of documentary about it too. It is depressing, but it can serve as a warning to those who are lucky enough to have ability and opportunity, not to waste it.
I've heard her interviews and this book is on my TBR pile.
ryc at Boo's;the link to fucktard is on Julie's page-Boo left it there. The name is gone ,but Marla doesn't think to highly of him.
I'm taking the fifth on the dress question!
Peace Scott
ryc: you don't need no stinking credentials! You get the BONUS! Well done!
I won't do that again. I promise!
Nickle and Dimed is a great read---should be required reading for everyone in the post-Industrial USA.
I am familiar with the program that is in Milwaukee County, and only slightly. I have a good friend that has been doing this for about 10 years and she is up to like 8-10 properties. I will take some photos of the houses and post them on my xanga this week some time. The most recent house that Janet has just purchased is on Highland about 1-2 miles from Marquette University.I seem to remember you telling me before that you were familiar with Marquette. So,some of the neighborhoods are a bit iffy..although Janet is a single woman about 60 years old and has always been ok no major problems. I will find out exactly what the program is called and you can see if you have something similar down by you. Or,if they dont..you can always relocate to our frozen tundra!!
I'll pass on that read.
Have you seen tha new Jimi Hendrix tee by Kaotic Clothing? Check it out man.
Ok, I don't want to be depressed, but I want to read it.
