Holiday Wisdom
As I'm sure you have discovered by now, I am a veritable fount of wisdom, a cornucopia of cognitive coruscation. I very recently dispensed some of that wisdom in a comment on Kestryl's site. But her posts are protected, and every time she posts a new one she hides or deletes the previous one. So my wisdom will be lost to posterity unless I share it here. And here it is:
1) Vocabulary words are like smiles and like love itself: the more you use them, the more you have of them.
2) That old cliche, "Absence makes the heart grow fonder," isn't always true. Here is the full quote, from the French writer/philosopher La Rochefoucauld. No one seems to be aware of this except me. I'm translating from the French, so if it sounds just a bit odd to English-speaking ears, that is why: "Absence increases large passions and diminishes small passions, as the wind fans a fire but blows out a candle."
That's all the wisdom I can think of at the moment. If I come up with more I'll surely let you know.
Incidentally, I still haven't received any nude audition photos from nubile females willing to help Theologian Dan beat YouTube. Quite frankly, I am shocked and appalled by the lack of pictorial response to my previous post.
God bless us every one.

I'm appalled as well! That means you won't require anymore help! Damn! Thanks for the birthday wishes John.
The quotation from La Rochefoucauld is very true, and the translation is good and understandable, IMHO.
Oh, you wanted nubile? Hmm...better go see if I can "unsend."
1) Even before finishing the first thought, I was thinking "Isn't it 'font of wisdom'?". Then I realized yes, "fount is correct".
2) Thanks for the translation, and clarification of the cliche which I had heard long ago, and which makes much more sense in the correct context.
Dang, I knew that about the cliche but it was long lost among my dying brain cells. It's just like learning something new. Can I go back to bed now that I've learned something new for the day? ROTFL at CynaraJane. She beat me to it.
ryc: Thank you! My birthday was Dec. 6th
1) Does that mean talking to much is ok then?
2) True. Unless you haven't got any big passions, then you have to make do with fanning the fires of the little ones yourself and pretending you have a life.
And as you and Tiny Tim said, God bless us, every one.
I can almost imagine how that quote might sound in French - almost, since I don't speak French...
I have read your earlier post, I have gained a deeper appreciation of Dan and I believe you are a genius to screen ladies this way...great idea...actually just a brave gesture all around...and wise! I am not laughing hard, but I am grinning long from this...still grinning actually...that was good!!!

i'm shocked and appalled, too. i thought dan worshippers would be standing in line
I was referred here by fratmom's page, and just wanted to say that the La Rochefoucauld quote is very interesting. Happy holidays!
When I first misread number one, I thought it said "vocabulary words are like similies."...which is also true, but not nearly as sweet.
HA. proud of yourself for that little tidbit of wisdom, are ya?
I always heard, "Absense makes the heart grow fonder---of someone else!"
At least that's how I experienced it...
I just don't get it John... I thought by now you'd have tons of nekked pics! Bummer dude!
(snickers)
"Vocabulary words are like smiles and like love itself: the more you use them, the more you have of them."
best.
Merry Christmas, John!
I'm pleased to tell you that you're the first person on Xanga who has used a vocabulary word that has actually led me to a dictionary for the purpose of finding out what it means.
<<<There's no "beaming" smiley on Xanga.
For the record, the word that I had to look up was "coruscation."
Vocabulary words are like smiles and like love itself: the more you use them, the more you have of them.
I couldn't agree with you more!
You are cool - you've been added.
RYC: What are the big issues?
my vocabulary has grown considerably in the last few years, , , altho you may not notice. 8 years in mexico gave me a whole new vocabulary, , , as far as my english vocabulary, , , people sometimes understand me, , , and i have a habit of making up my own words or giving words multiple meanings, which can be confusing to people im talking to who dont know me, , ,
builders square , , , could mean builders square, office max, wal mart, , , well, any retail establishment, , , you, , , they, just have to decide which one im talking about, , , and i dont even think or blink an eye when i use the word, , , nor do i notice ive misnamed the actual location im talking about.
fix a flat , , , is any item that repairs something
just a couple of examples. there are more.
i wont be looking for a job anytime soon, , , i hope, , ,
and when im king i guess the people will learn the kings language so to speak.
however, , , for the masses, , , a good vocabulary is indeed nice to have.
and a lot of your words i dont understand, , , so that should make you happy, , , merry christmas.
oh, , , sorry you havent recieved many or any nude photos or videos, , , id plug for some for you on my site, , , but im after them myself, , , i do hope you have some luck with your quest tho.
I'm with badnarikchick. Coruscation made me run for that dictionary. Sometimes I get coruscation of magnificent vocabulary as well..... but i'm too lazy to type 'em up though. Real life conversations might amaze many though.
Damn, and I was thinkin' of sending videos to Dan of me naked.... buuuuttt I don't think he'll like 'em that much. Mostly cause I'm a guy and had a hard most of the video.
RYC: There's a code that you can get that'll customize names on Xanga when certain people comment on your site. It's been a couple of weeks, but I think that the link is here.
ryc: he's not online, or subbed to me, and thus, cant. once he's back online, i'll watch what i say.
Someday I'll tell you a long story re: Absence makes the heart grow fonder:)
RYC: Betty Carr Austin is the older sister of one of my high school friends who shares them with me.
I actually admire the spew that expounds from your keys, however, I think the ex-Espinosa Baca may give you a run for your money. I surely miss that young man.
Hoping you Christmas is peaceful, fulfilling, and full of the Spirit of Christ my friend.

2. after http://www.xanga.com/mejicojohn/557955618/item.html a protected post, , , i hope.
I'm beginning to think that you're one of the few that actually reads my articles, think most people are responding to my comments and/or just looking at the pictures .... or the stories go over their heads .....
thanks, , , im wondering tho, , , did i buy your vote? that was just a little xmas present, not a bribe, , , but, thanks for your support, , , my polls are skyrocketing.
