Why Men Don't Write Advice Columns
A little humor from Reader's Digest:
**********
Dear Abie,
The other day I set off for work, leaving my husband in the house watching the TV. I hadn't gone more than a mile when my engine conked out and the car shuddered to a halt. I walked back home, only to find my husband making love to our neighbor. He was let go from his job six months ago, and he says he has been feeling increasingly depressed and worthless. I love him very much, but I don't know if I can trust him any more. What should I do?
Sincerely,
FrustratedDear Frustrated,
A car stalling can be caused by a variety of faults with the engine. Check that there is no debris in the fuel line. If it's clear, check the jubilee clips holding the vacuum pipes onto the inlet manifold. Or it could be that the fuel pump itself is faulty, causing low delivery pressure to the carburetor float chamber.
I hope this helps.
Abie**********
I will add parenthetically that this isn't even particularly good automotive advice.

Dear Frustrated,
Kick his ass.
Leave the premises, lady. File for divorce, and start all over again. Cheating is not good.
Have you ever heard the John Prine song, Dear Abby?
@oceanstarr -
No, never heard it. I'm guessing I probably should, right?
@Eccentrique -
It's pretty funny. One of my favorites
LOL!!
Oy. That's pretty terrible.
RYC: You're very kind. Sorry to hear about your truck. In many ways, older vehicles are more repair-friendly than the newer cars with all their electronic components. But then, when your auto of choice doesn't run, it sucks no matter what year it is.
I've been dreaming of an area-wide public transit system that would eliminate my need for a car. When I suggested it to a class-mate, he said, "No one's gonna take my car from me!" Yikes. I said nothing about TAKING CARS FROM PEOPLE. Is that the typical response to public transit??? I don't know, but I do know that I was thinking of all those people working entry-level jobs who would be a few more dollars closer sustainability if they didn't have to keep up their cars--or who could keep their jobs when their old cars break down. (We've been perilously close to this situation ourselves.)
I guess it's all in your perspective.
I haven't heard this one for a while... it made me laugh this time too.

HAHAHAHAHAH!!!!
HAHAHA! that's a good one.
I can't see you listening to the kind of music playing on your site, John. This was a funny post.
That about hits the nail on the head though - if we are going to do the whole gender stereotyping thing
@Xcholo4u -
What kind of music can you see me listening to, Miguel? And why?
I've been reading the Digest since I could read! Loved this... very funny.
Dear Frustrated - Buy a new car with HIS money, THEN kick his ass out!
rofl, you're right, not good automotive device.
Susan
God he barely even let her get out of the driveway before jumping on the neighbor...
